Annan Shogi / 安南将棋
A piece borrows the move of the piece behind it. Every read gets turned on its head.

Annan Shogi (安南将棋) is a traditional shogi variant said to have been devised around 1926 by Shintaro Suzuki, a French-literature scholar at Tokyo Imperial University. Any piece with a friendly piece directly behind it borrows that piece's original move — a pawn might really be a rook in disguise. This is a free, browser-playable implementation with a built-in AI opponent.
安南将棋は、大正15年（1926年）ごろ、東京帝国大学の仏文学者・鈴木信太郎が考案したと伝わる、伝統的な変則将棋です。自分の駒がすぐ後ろに隣接していると、その駒本来の動きを借りて動きます——「歩のつもりで動かしたら実は飛車だった」なんてことも。本作はブラウザで遊べる無料の実装で、AI対戦機能を搭載しています。

On AI use / 制作にあたって
This project's code (game rules, AI opponent, UI) was built with the help of Anthropic's Claude, an AI assistant. Design decisions and testing were done by the developer; Claude helped implement them in code.
本作のプログラム（ルール実装・AI対戦・UI）は、AnthropicのAIアシスタント「Claude」の助けを借りて制作しました。設計や確認は制作者が行い、Claudeと一緒にコードへ落とし込みました。
About the rules / ルールの出典について
The core "borrow the move of the piece behind" rule, and the starting setup (pawns in front of the rook/bishop advanced one square), are traditional Annan Shogi rules — not invented by this project. Only the Tide Rule is original to this release.
「後ろの駒の動きを借りる」という基本ルール、および初期配置（角・飛の前の歩を1マス前進）は伝統的な安南将棋のルールであり、本作独自の考案ではありません。潮汐ルールのみ、本作オリジナルです。
